Event: iFLY Hollywood Field Trip - Grade 6

Description:
The 6th graders will travel to iFLY Hollywood to participate in their Indoor Skydiving Education Program. This field trip will make math, science, and engineering come alive with tactile experience, real-world data, and a huge amount of fun. During the classroom portion of the field trip the physics of flight will be studied through both experiments and demonstrations. Concepts such as terminal velocity, flight stability, center of mass, center of drag, Bernoulli's Principle, and the Venturi Effect will be discussed. After the classroom portion, the sixth graders will participate in indoor skydiving which will allow them to experience true free fall conditions without jumping out of an airplane! Departure Time: 8:00 a.m. Return Time: 2:30 p.m. Attire: Wear jeans and your red Grace T-shirt and bring a sweater/jacket. Special Instructions: Pack a snack and bring money for lunch. Parent Chaperone Fee: $35.00 + parking
